    WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    The Emergency Preparedness Intern is primarily responsible for working the Public Safety and Emergency Management team to develop and implement an Emergency Preparedness program which includes plans, training, exercises, after-action reports, and other documents and activities.

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

    • Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, Emergency Preparedness, assists with and completes the following activities: 
    • Review and maintain Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority Emergency Response Plans, Continuity of Operations Plans, and other planning documents. 
    • Organize emergency exercises in accordance with national standards. 
    • Coordinate emergency management training for Capital Metro personnel. 
    • Support operations of the Capital Metro Emergency Operations Center and the Austin Travis County Emergency Operations Center during times of disaster or emergency. 
    • Other duties as required

    WHAT YOU BRING

    Education and Experience 

    • Full-time student currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Public Safety Management, Supply Chain Management/Operations, or related major degree program.
    • Able to work a minimum of 10-20 hours a week.
